Draggable Routes allows you to customize your route simply by dragging the standard MapQuest route onto roads you prefer to use. Pick an alternate route to avoid traffic congestion, check out an unexplored scenic backroad or intriguing landmark while on vacation, or even plan errands more efficiently using preferred shortcuts in your town. You can easily print and share your customized route using standard MapQuest tools.
Using Draggable Routes:
- Get a route between 2 or more locations
- Click on the blue route highlight and hold your mouse down
- Drag the route onto your preferred path. As the mouse is dragged, you will see the "potential" route displayed if the mouse were released at that point
- Release
When the mouse is released a small red circle (called a via point) will be placed at that point and MapQuest will update your route and directions to pass through that via point. You can add up to 10 custom via points per route as well as hover over new points for options like Remove, Search Nearby, and Make it a Route Stop.
