Essexville is a city in Bay County in the U.S. state of Michigan. The population was 3,766 at the 2000 census with an estimated population of 3,493 in 2008. Essexville is part of the Bay City, Michigan Metropolitan Statistical Area and is often associated with its larger, western neighbor.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 1.4 square miles (3.6 km²), of which, 1.2 square miles (3.1 km²) of it is land and 0.2 square miles (0.4 km²) of it (12.32%) is water. It is also directly on the Saginaw Bay.
As of the census of 2000, there were 3,766 people, 1,487 households, and 1,088 families residing in the city. The population density was 3,114.3 per square mile (1,201.7/km²). There were 1,530 housing units at an average density of 1,265.2 per square mile (488.2/km²). The racial makeup of the city was 96.34% White, 0.53% African American, 0.80% Native American, 0.58% Asian, 0.61% from other races, and 1.14% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 2.07% of the population.
