Granger is a city in Williamson County, Texas, United States. The population was 1,299 at the 2000 census; it was 1,331 in the 2005 census estimate. Granger was the site for the filming of the 2010 remake of the movie True Grit.
Granger is located at 30°43′05″N 97°26′28″W / 30.718081°N 97.440996°W / 30.718081; -97.440996 (30.718081, -97.440996), 36 miles (58 km) northeast of Austin. Granger Lake is located just east of the city.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 0.7 square miles (1.7 km2), all of it land.
