Tioga is a town in Grayson County, Texas, United States. The population was 754 at the 2000 census. It is part of the Sherman–Denison Metropolitan Statistical Area.
It is the official birthplace of Gene Autry; one of the main streets through the town is named in his memory. However, Dr. Eugene Ledbetter, the doctor that delivered Gene Autry, has stated that he was not born in Tioga, though there was disagreement between himself and the Autrys because of unpaid doctor bills. Gene Autry did spend some time growing up in Tioga, but not more than a few years.
