Gine Tun
It should be noted that since the beginning of the 1970s, the famous "Ginetun", one of the favorite places of the then Yerevan youth, began to operate in the semi-basement of the building, the entrance of which was from Nalbandyan Street. The authors of the tavern's design are the architect Stepan Sargsyan and the sculptor Benik Khachatryan. The old arched basement was decorated with carpets, carpets, benches and tables made of wood. Artistic images in the national style adorned the walls, and food was served in earthenware. Let's talk about Nalbandyan Street itself, which since the second half of the 19th century was considered the most important after Abovyan (Astafyan) Street. It reached the central square (today - Republic Square) and continued to the territory of the present Shahumyan square. At first, the street was called Governor's, because it was on this street that the governor's residence was located. In 1884 it was named after the commander Arshak Ter-Gukasov.
