The Tamworth Truck Drivers Memorial, established in 2000 by the Tamworth Truck Drivers Club, serves as a poignant tribute to men and women who have lost their lives in the line of duty as professional drivers, as well as those dedicated to the transport industry. With approximately 180 plaques commemorating individuals, the memorial stands as a place of remembrance and reflection for drivers and their families.
This significant monument, located on the New England Highway in South Tamworth, is one of only four such memorials in Australia. Officially unveiled by Tony Windsor MP, it highlights the contributions of supporters who helped establish and maintain this important site of remembrance.
