The Tamworth Truck Drivers Memorial, established in 2000 by the Tamworth Truck Drivers Club, honors the men and women who have tragically lost their lives while working as professional drivers, as well as those who have committed their lives to the transport industry. Located on the New England Highway in South Tamworth, this poignant site features approximately 180 plaques, each commemorating individuals, and serves as a place of remembrance for their contributions to the community.
In 2015, a one-off grant from the New South Wales Government enabled the expansion of the memorial, which stands as one of only four truck drivers' memorials in Australia. The site not only showcases plaques but also includes flowers, notes from children, and photographs left by loved ones, reflecting the deep respect and gratitude held for those who serve in the transport sector.
