Canteena is an exciting addition to the Gisborne café scene. Come to 18 Prince Street (behind the Gisborne Central Shopping Centre) and find a warm, cosy and quiet café known for great food with an exciting ethnic twist. We are open for breakfast and lunch six days a week. Dinner is served on Friday and Saturday evenings. Using fresh ingredients we create dishes with a classic continental flair, to be enjoyed with a glass of wine and most importantly - the best coffee in Gisborne. The coffee is the specialty of the house. It is the Humbler blend from the renowned Proud Mary Coffee Roasters. Anupam is an experienced chef with 25 years in the industry and barista with more than nine years running a successful Michel's Patisserie franchise. Canteena is a little bit special. Alongside the classics, there are dishes with an ethnic flair not yet seen in Gisborne. Come and cradle a glass of wine by the fire, indulge in great food freshly prepared at an affordable price.
