The best place to buy truly special handmade and locally designed souvenirs on the Great Ocean Road. Spence a.k.a Sue Younis is a local textile artist and milliner who employs other crafty locals to help her produce limited edition ranges of tea cosies, aprons, bags, toys and more. Spence's daughter Clare designs a growing range of 12 Apostles and Great Ocean Road inspired souvenirs as well as a broader Australiana influenced paper range. Spence Australia realises that our visitors are looking for mementoes that are designed and made in Australia. We support other Australian makers and try to keep the majority of our production within the local community. We hope every visitor feels welcome in our shop and our community. As I type, Spence is turning up the stereo so that Abba is loud enough to make the handmade soaps shake. An international visitor is singing along and dancing with a local lady named Sylvia who knits our tea cosies. Introverts need not worry- this isn't an everyday occurrence.
