Founded in Ontario's pristine Algonquin Park, Tamakwa offers a well-rounded outdoor program. Physically, our camp facility has been totally restored and refurbished throughout the years, yet Tamakwa's magic has always been the intangible quality of warmth and camaraderie of an Algonquin camp family. Camp Shalom, established in 1948 and located in Gravenhurst on the scenic Lake Muskoka, is a Jewish summer camp dedicated to fostering lasting impacts on campers and staff alike. With roots that began humbly with just 25 campers, it has grown to accommodate a full complement of participants and boasts 65 buildings supporting various camp activities.
