DACS, established in 1984, is a not-for-profit organisation committed to advocating for the rights of artists and maximising their royalties. They manage the Artists Resale Right, which enables artists and their beneficiaries to receive royalty payments when their works are resold by galleries or art dealers for £1,000 or more.

In addition to the Artists Resale Right, DACS facilitates collective licensing, allowing artists to earn royalties from secondary uses of their works, such as photocopying, broadcasting, and merchandising. They also broker licensing agreements, providing access to a wide range of high-resolution images from over 400 artists, which can be used for various reproduction purposes.
