19 21 Blandford Street
London, England W1U 3DH
Drawing on flavours and culinary traditions from Asia, the Middle East, East Africa and Britain, Jikoni was described by Yotam Ottolenghi as the restaurant “he wished he had opened” in 2018’s Where Chefs Eat guide. The Jikoni menu changes with the seasons, with regularly changing dishes including the likes of clove-smoked venison samosas with beetroot chutney and charred Brussels sprouts with hot and sour dressing. Meanwhile, signature dishes include the banana cake with miso butterscotch and Ovaltine kulfi. Around half of Jikoni’s menu is always vegetarian. Much of Jikoni’s produce, wines and even teas are sourced from artisan and sustainable family producers and locally in the UK where possible. Colourful block print textiles sit beside Indian paintings on the wall, creating a vibrant, homely setting. Jikoni is nestled into the heart of London’s Marylebone neighbourhood, just a 5-minute walk from both Selfridges and Baker Street.
