(The Guardian, UK) Parkteatret Scene is an old cinema from 1907 now functioning mainly as a concert venue with a capacity of 500. Our main focus is pop/rock, but the venue is also great for indie, bluegrass, country, rockabilly, jazz and blues. We often have either a concert or disco for children on Sundays. Apart from concerts, theres often documentary films or other kinds of movie nights on Wednesdays, often with debates or discussions on the topics raised. The old foyer of the cinema now hosts Parkteatret Bar, which is popular for its wide selection of quality drinks, good coffee and good music. The bar has a nice outdoor seating area, perfect for sunny days with a nice cold drink. Parkteatret Bar also serves as a nice venue for smaller concerts, releases etc. Parkteatret is situated in Grünerlokka, an area that has become revigorated since the 1990's and is now one of the most vibrant parts of the city. The venue is in its original shape, although the stage has undergone a complete rebuild so that it meets the standard of sound reflection in European concert venues.
