Founded in 1896, Adelphi University provides various graduate and undergraduate courses in science, humanities, business, education, nursing and health maintenance, social welfare and clinical psychology. The university s main campus is in Garden City, N.Y., with additional campuses in New York City, Hauppauge and Poughkeepsie, N.Y. Its main campus offers undergraduate and graduate degrees, postdoctoral study and adult education programs through its various schools. Its schools include the College of Arts and Sciences, Derner Institute of Advanced Psychological Studies, Adult Undergraduate Degree Program and Schools of Business, Education, Nursing and Social Work. Its New York City campus offers evening and weekend undergraduate and graduate programs in social work, nursing, education and teacher certifications. It is a member the Association of American Colleges and Universities and is accredited by the New York State Education Department.
