Germantown Elementary School provides a variety of academic and extracurricular programs to more than 400 students in prekindergarten through grade five. The school provides programs in art, computers, mathematics, science, dance and social studies. It also provides various classes in reading, creative writing and spelling. Established in 1967, the school also offers Title I programs. Germantown Elementary School offers a research-based, open-court reading program that provides classes in phonemic awareness, phonics and word knowledge, comprehension skills and strategies, and inquiry skills and strategies. The school s staff includes counselors, psychologists, and speech and language therapists.
