Organized in 1856, Williamsport Municipal Water Authority is a provider of water services to Williamsport and its surrounding communities. Based in Pennsylvania, the authority provides water for drinking, industrial and general municipal purposes. Additionally, it maintains a groundwater treatment facility, which is a supplemental water supply. The authority also maintains a water treatment plant that is designed to filter and treat the surface water supplies for the greater Williamsport area. Williamsport Municipal Water Authority is a member of the American Water Works Association (AWWA) and Water Environment Federation (WEF).
