Founded in 1965 by John and Betty Howard in a one room office in Prichard, Alabama, the company was originally incorporated as John Howard Real Estate, Inc. From this humble beginning, they built the company on the premise that superior service and a reliable product would insure success. Indeed, this has proven correct! Today, over 40 years later, John M. Howard, GBI continues to operate the company as its president, primarily in charge of land development, finances and construction. He has surrounded himself with professionals who ensure that his quest for a quality product and superior service is maintained. The builder-supts have a combined 80 years of building experience. In 2003, W. Lindsay Walker joined the John Howard team as Chief Operating Officer. Walker, a Georgia Tech graduate has over 30 years of experience in the home building, development industry. Our company is actively engaged in ongoing professional research in both new land purchases and in plan development for the benefit and pleasure of the home owner. We continue to seek new products which will enhance the design, decor and structure of our homes. We are also extremely energy conscious in the use of utilities, and are constantly updating our product to offer our customers homes with maximum benefits and value.
