The Cherokee County Career and Technology Center, located in Centre, Ala., serves more than 600 students in grades 8 through 12. The center offers programs in art, auto mechanics, business education, child care, cosmetology, health care and welding. The Cherokee County Career and Technology Center s business program includes keyboarding, multimedia design, Microsoft office, accounting and business office. Its auto mechanics program features classes in suspension and steering, brakes, engine performance and repair, automatic transmissions and air conditioning. The center has various student organizations, such as the Future Business Leaders of America and Skills USA. The Cherokee County Career and Technology Center is a part of the Cherokee County Board of Education, which also operates Centre Middle School and Cherokee County High School.
