Founded in 1876, Helena High School offers education to more than 1,300 students in grades nine through 12. Its curriculum includes mathematics, English, foreign language, health education, business studies, industrial arts, social studies, science and technology, fine arts, music and physical education. It also offers vocational classes in auto mechanics, building trades, business, drafting, welding and home economics. The school organizes extracurricular activities, including art club, band, French club, German club, international club, key club, orchestra, science Olympiad team, Spanish club student council and yearbook. It has athletic teams for volleyball, wrestling, cheerleading, swimming, tennis, softball, soccer, golf, football, cross country and basketball. Located in Helena, Mont., the school has a fully equipped library that offers books on various topics, magazines, encyclopedias, newspapers and other reference materials.
