Located in Anchorage, Alaska, The American Cancer Society is one of the largest voluntary health organizations in the United States. It is a nationwide, community-based voluntary health organization dedicated to eliminating cancer as a major health problem. The organization has over 12 chartered Divisions, more than 900 local offices nationwide, and a presence in more than 5,100 communities. The American Cancer Society develops guidelines for recommended cancer screenings and nutrition and physical activity. The Better Business Bureau has honored the organization with the Wise Giving Alliance national charity seal since 2005.
