Founded in 1955, Alaska Public Employees Association (AFT) is one of the oldest Alaskan public unions in the United States. Located in Fairbanks, Alaska, it comprises of general government workers. Employees Political Information Committee (EPIC) is the political action division of the Alaska Public Employees Association. It chooses candidates to endorse, provides campaign contributions, and communicates with the membership of the various affiliated unions. The American Federation of Teachers charters Alaska Public Employees Association as the State Federation for Alaska, and is the umbrella organization for all AFT locals within the State of Alaska.
