Founded in 1971, Prince William Sound Community College, also known as PWSCC, is a community institution that offers college transfer, occupational, technical, basic skills, wellness, cultural and community education programs. It provides baccalaureate and associate s degrees, as well as certificate programs in a variety of fields, such as business administration, human services, science, art, industrial technology and safety management. The college collaborates with businesses, educational institutions and public sector agencies to provide training opportunities for local work force and promote economic development. Prince William Sound Community College also has a business office that provides administrative services related to budget, finance, accounting, procurement, travel, facilities, risk management, payroll, security and auxiliary operations. It is accredited by the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities. Prince William Sound Community College maintains its main campus in Valdez, Alaska.
