Wrangell Public Works

The Public Works department is responsible for the operations and management of drinking water, wastewater and roads. It provides solid waste collection services and issues and enforces building code permits. The department operates a materials recovery and handling facility that recycles cardboard, glass and aluminum cans. The Public Works department is governed by the city of Wrangell in Alaska. It operates administration, economic development, electrical, finance, fire, planning, police, and parks and recreation departments. It also operates Wrangell Medical Center, Nolan Center and Irene Ingle Public Library, as well as a convention center, museum, and ports and harbors. The city of Wrangell s planning department assists in various development plans.
