Alpha Psi Lambda Chapter in Columbia, SC is a local chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., the first intercollegiate Greek-letter fraternity established for African American Men. Founded in 1906 at Cornell University, Alpha Phi Alpha has been at the forefront of the African-American community's fight for civil rights and has supplied voice and vision to the struggle of African Americans and people of color around the world.
The chapter is dedicated to promoting the principles of scholarship, fellowship, good character, and the uplifting of humanity. With a strong emphasis on academic excellence, Alpha Psi Lambda Chapter also works to help correct the educational, economic, political, and social injustices faced by African Americans through community service and involvement.
