Established in 1996, the Tusayan Fire Department is a public department of Coconino County in Arizona providing fire and rescue services, along with emergency medical services. Based in Grand Canyon, Ariz., it operates from one service station manned by both active career and volunteer firefighters. The department safeguards hotels, restaurants and retail stores across the Grand Canyon Airport and other adjacent areas. In conjunction with the Tusayan Community Wild Fire Protection Plan, the department assists the Kaibab National Forest to safeguard against wild land fire events. Tusayan Fire Department also provides bi-weekly fire training and is compliant to the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA).
