Intermountain Centers for Human Development, a private non-profit agency, was established in 1973 to provide quality individualized community-based services. The organization provides group residences, foster and therapeutic foster care programs, semi-independent living programs, intensive home-based therapy programs, respite and crisis stabilization service programs. It also provides out of home and home-based support services to a variety of at-risk populations, including children and youth who are emotionally and behaviorally challenged, adults who have been diagnosed with serious mental illness and individuals with developmental disabilities. Intermountain Centers for Human Development also operates a sub-acute level group residence as an alternative to institutionalization for Native American adolescents who exhibit the most challenging behaviors. It is headquartered in Tucson, Ariz.
