Founded in 1931, Arkansas Forestry Commission works to protect and develop the forest resources of Arkansas. Located in Little Rock, Ariz., the commission is responsible for preventing as well as suppressing wildfire. It also monitors and promotes forest health as well as encourages reforestation and forest resource stewardship. Additionally, the forestry commission offers land examination, forest management, fire lane construction and timber marking services.
