The Palo Verde Irrigation District covers more than 150 square miles in Riverside and Imperial counties in California. The district manages water, maintenance, engineering, operations and automatic controls departments. Its canal system consists of over 200 miles of main and lateral canals. The Palo Verde Irrigation District also includes drainage systems that feature nearly 250 siphons and submerged culverts. The district diverts and distributes irrigation water from the Colorado River to farmland. In addition, it is responsible for providing agricultural drainage services for said land. The district has a staff of approximately 70 people. The Palo Verde Irrigation District owns and operates spray rigs, heavy-duty trailers, and dump and water trucks.
