The Department of Fish and Game maintains a preserve of fish, wildlife and plant species and natural communities and serves recreational, commercial, scientific and educational institutions. The department also maintains a stock of deer, elk, pronghorn, bighorn sheep, bear and wild pig. It provides opportunities to participate in hunting and freshwater and marine fishing.
