Turtle Rock Elementary is a learning center that is governed by the Irvine Unified School District, which serves more than 24,000 students through over 30 elementary, middle and high schools. Established in 1970, the school enrolls students in kindergarten through grade six. It provides Title I and gifted and talented education programs. The school also offers English as a Second Language and speech and language therapy programs. Its academic curriculum includes English, math, science and social studies. Turtle Rock Elementary provides the Drug Abuse Resistance Education (D.A.R.E) program. The school supports classes in art, music and physical education, as well as offers extracurricular activities, such as chorus. Its facilities include a library and media center and computer and science laboratories. Located in Irvine, Calif., Turtle Rock Elementary additionally operates a parent-teacher association and provides meals, transportation, guidance counseling and health care.
