Ocean Way Recording is one of the last great traditional studios in Hollywood, dating back to 1958. It was originally Bill Putnam's United Western Studios. Frank Sinatra's Reprise label was also housed in the building. Upon entering into the hallway, the walls are lined with photos of the music legends who have recorded there, as well as their gold and platinum plaques. Ocean Way has had an incredibly diverse array of artists record in historic Studios A and B over the years: The Beach Boys, Ray Charles, Eric Clapton, Natalie Cole, Sheryl Crow, Ella Fitzgerald, Green Day, Michael Jackson, Quincy Jones, Paul McCartney, No Doubt and The Red Hot Chili Peppers just to name a few. Ocean Way Sound equipment inventory and set-up is truly impressive. The studio is located on Sunset Boulevard; between Gower Street and Gorden Street.
