Pressure Profile Systems designs and develops some of the most advanced instrumentation systems for measuring distributed tactile and contact pressures. Starting with tactile sensing technology developed at Harvard University, Pressure Profile Systems was founded in 1996. This technology was developed over four years with government grants from several agencies, including the Defense Advanced Research Agency, the Army Research Lab and the National Institute of Health. The company now applies this technology to improve ergonomic design in a variety of products, including custom shoe insoles, windshield wipers, baby diapers, exercise machines, mammogram machines, gastrointestinal diagnostic equipment, firearm grips and racing suits. Pressure Profile Systems is located in Los Angeles.
