Head Start provides children with activities that help them grow mentally, socially, emotionally and physically. Head Start is available to children between the ages of 3 to 4.9 years of age with gross family incomes at or below Head Start family income guidelines during the past 12 months. Children who enroll in the regional Head Start program may attend a part-day or full-day program or the option of being schooled at home by a Homebase Educator. Activities included in classroom time are circle time, music, dramatic play, art, food experiences and group time. Children have time to work and interact in small groups with other children and play outdoors on safe playground equipment. Head Start has several locations in Madera, Calif. area.
