Founded by Father A.L. McMahon OP and eight Dominican nuns in the early 20th century, the Corpus Christi Monastery is a shrine and place for the devotion and honor of "The Lord in the Blessed Sacrament." The nuns spend their days praying, singing, studying, reading spiritual works, doing chores and practicing artistic expression.

Women are welcome to try their hand at visiting with the sisters to see if there is a possible vocation to join them. If it seems like a good fit, they may be asked to stay at the monastery to study, take vows and take up the Dominican Habit. There are currently 15 Sisters residing at Corpus Christi.

The Dominican Catholic tradition was inspired by St. Dominic of the thirteenth century, patron saint of astronomers and founder of the Order of Preachers. A Dominican is "one who is polarized by the Word, who studies the Word, who celebrates the Word, who lives it and preaches it to others."
