Cerritos College, founded in 1955 and located in Norwalk, Calif., offers a large number of courses, programs of study and other opportunities to students of all backgrounds and ages. The institution is a public community college serving an area of more than 50-square-miles of southeastern Los Angeles County. It offers degrees and certificates in more than 80 areas of study in a number of divisions. Over 1,200 students successfully complete their course of studies every year. The student body of the college consists of Hispanics, Asians, African-Americans, Pacific Islanders and Native Americans, who together account for more than 60 percent of the student strength.
