The Pet Licensing division provides information related to the licensing and vaccination of dogs. It also offers information to support investigations of cruelty, neglect, abandonment and dog bites. The Pet Licensing division is a part of OC Animal Care, which provides licensing services for puppies and unsterilized and sterilized dogs and cats. OC Animal Care operates an animal care center that shelters and houses more than 380 dogs and over 300 cats. It offers field services for public health protection against communicable animal diseases. The department also transports injured animals for emergency treatment. OC Animal Care provides public education programs and classes. It is governed by the County of Orange in California.
