About Baker Wine & Grape Analysis, Inc was initiated in March 2002. The chief financial officer and bottle washer is Dr. Brenda Baker. Baker Wine & Grape Analysis opened its doors in June 2002. Dr. Baker earned the title of TTB ( Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau ) Certified Chemist in December 2002 and has been analyzing wine and juice for an ever expanding customer base since. Dr. Baker earned her Doctorate in Biochemistry from Colorado State University in 1992 with an emphasis on protein chemistry. She has been instructing at the university level since 1992. In 1998, she accepted a position in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo, California. She and her family moved to the Paso Robles wine region where she became interested in wine chemistry. After working in the wine analysis laboratory at Meridian Vineyards, she decided to open a commercial wine analysis laboratory to serve the burgeoning wine industry of the Central Coast. The laboratory is constantly being upgraded with the latest technology with the help of Process DSG, owned and operated by the husband and wife team of Kevin and Heather Mikelonis. By staying on the cutting edge of computer technology, Baker Wine and Grape Analysis is able to process large numbers of samples efficiently and accurately. The ultimate result is that clients are able to receive the vast majority of their laboratory results in hours, as opposed to days. Kathy Johnson, renowned chemist joined the company in August of 2008. She brings a wide array of experience and knowledge to our team and we are thrilled to have her on board!
