The Office of the State Fire Marshal focuses on fire prevention activities to safeguard the lives and properties of the state residents. Established in 1923, it administers various law enforcement, pipeline safety, and fire and life safety programs. The office also regulates buildings in which people live, as well as controls substances and products which cause injuries, death and destruction by fire.
