The Art and Architecture Library is located in the Nathan Cummings Art Building that also houses the art department offices. The library is small but spacious with incredibly high ceilings and tall windows that give it a peaceful ambiance. The library has particular strengths in Medieval, Renaissance, Modern, and Chinese art.

There is no turnstile, but you may be asked to show your Stanford University ID or visitor pass and have your bag checked on the way out. There is also a visual resources center for slide and digital formats on the lower level. This resource is for Stanford community and is by appointment only.

Non-Stanford affiliated visitors may request access with a day pass. Each visitor is alotted up to seven day passes in a twelve month span. Additional access privileges may be purchased. Apply at the Cecil H. Green Library privileges desk.
