This restaurant serves sushi, sashimi and Japanese entrées prepared with a fresh, fun style. The owner, Yumiko Nagato, is often working behind the sushi bar himself, preparing attractive dishes below his display of LA Marathon medals. Sushi and sashimi choices include traditional combinations and rolls, along with specialties like cajun sashimi, garlic sashimi and Oy Vey salmon sashimi. The menu also includes plenty of non-sushi options, including tempura, teriyaki, noodles, sukiyaki and salads. All shellfish is cooked separately from other fish to accommodate allergies, and for healthy diners or those with dietary restrictions, brown rice and soy paper can be substituted for white rice and seaweed. Please note that there is a 10 percent service charge applied to take-out orders, and a $15 minimum is required for credit cards. Signs on the wall remind customers to order carefully and to check their orders, as no refunds or exchanges are permitted.
