HistoryTwo women, Tova Pusl and Julia Bongard, realized their own need for parenting support. After taking parenting classes they started their own business to support other families. It is by offering empathy to parents and children that they grow the expanding compassionate parenting community in Long Beach and the surrounding areas.SpecialtiesFunctional Families provides important, scientifically proven information and support for parenting approaches that help guide parents away from our culture's predominantly fear and punishment-based behavior modification methods towards a long term view of parenting and child development, and the understanding that development of true emotional intelligence and a child's capacity to learn self-regulation relies greatly on the safety and trust of connected, empathic parent-child relationships. In these classes, parents will also get an opportunity experience deep, empathic support for their parenting struggles.
