HemaCare Corporation and its subsidiary, Coral Blood Services, provide customized blood management programs for health care facilities and provide blood products and services to more than 160 hospitals in Southern California and the East Coast. The company's outsourcing programs include management of hospital-based blood collection centers, management of hospital blood banks and blood inventories and, in California, collection and broad-based distribution of blood platelets. It also provides TA services to patients in outsourced hospital clinical departments and on a mobile just-in-time basis. HemaCare was founded in 1978 and has headquarters in Woodland Hills, Calif. It is licensed by the Food and Drug Administration and accredited by the American Association of Blood Banks.
