The primary mission of the Los Angeles Conservation Corps is to offer at-risk young adults and school children with opportunities to succeed. The organization provides job training, education and work skills. It focuses on environmental and service projects that benefit the community. Los Angeles Conservation Corps employs young people to provide conservation services for government agencies and private sponsors throughout the greater Los Angeles area. The organization s labor force of more than 200 young people performs in sites that range from the San Bernardino Mountains to the Channel Islands. Its beautification crews specialize in enhancement projects and public improvements. The Los Angeles Conservation Corps also provides habitat restoration, natural disaster preparation, tree planting, recycling and mural planting.
