Founded in 1986, Sunnymead Middle School has an enrollment of more than 1,500 students in grades six through eight. The school offers classes in language arts, math, physical education, science and social studies. Its curriculum also includes technology education and visual and performing arts. Sunnymead Middle School provides special education programs for students with special needs. The school has a library that stocks a variety of textbooks, encyclopedias, atlases, dictionaries, newspapers, magazines and reference materials. It offers English Language Learners and gifted and talented education programs. Sunnymead Middle School additionally provides guidance and counseling programs. The school is governed by the Moreno Valley Unified School District, which also operates several elementary, middle, high and alternative schools.
