<p>Valley View Elementary School first opened in 1960. It is located in the eastern part of Pleasanton.&nbsp;The school has been recognized as a California Distinguished School and was given the Seal of Excellence by the California Bilingual Education.</p> <p>The school is well-known for an award-winning Spanish Dual Immersion program, designed to help students develop fluency in English and Spanish. Throughout the program, the Spanish language is used as a vehicle in learning. &nbsp;</p> <p>It currently has 733 students, and it's mascot is the Mustang. The school's principal is Rafael Cruz. It enjoys the support of an active&nbsp;Parent Faculty Club. Members of the volunteer group host and plan events, activities and fundraisers throughout the school year.&nbsp;</p>
