Shastice Park, located off Rockfellow Drive adjacent to the Mt. Shasta High School campus, is a 38-acre recreational facility that has been a cornerstone of community activities since its establishment in 1978. The park features a variety of amenities, including the Siskiyou Ice Rink, lighted softball fields, tennis courts, large picnic areas, and a playground, as well as specialized areas like the Mt. Shasta Skate Park and an off-leash dog park.

Development at Shastice Park has been made possible through various funding sources, including California Park Bond grants and contributions from local organizations and families. The park not only serves as a hub for youth sports and community gatherings but also emphasizes accessibility and inclusivity for all visitors.

I love this park for all of the wildlife there and all of the activities they have a skate park and a ice rink in the winter. But the best part is you can see Mount Shasta Ten out of ten!

Headwaters Spring

Headwaters Spring, located at the base of Spring Hill in Mount Shasta City Park, is renowned as the headwaters of the Upper Sacramento River, attracting both locals and visitors with its scenic beauty. This historic site, once part of the hunting grounds of the Wintun, Maidu, and Okwanuchu Indian tribes, features paths, benches, and a viewing patio that enhance the experience of its crystal-clear waters. The spring's water, which begins its journey from the snowy peaks of Mount Shasta, flows through underground lava tubes before emerging in the park. Restoration efforts in recent years have revitalized the area, ensuring its natural health and beauty while providing access to trails and wetlands for exploration. Generated from the website
