Rocky Mountain PBS reaches one million viewers weekly in Colorado and the surrounding states, providing educational, entertainment and news programming. From its beginning in 1956 as an instructional television station, broadcasting a few hours each day, Denver's KRMA CH 6 has evolved into a full-service PBS member station with a round-the-clock schedule. Sister station KRMJ CH 18 opened in Grand Junction in 1996, and KTSC CH 8 in Pueblo/Colorado Springs joined the network in 1999. The station s regular programming features mysteries, theatrical and musical performances, a news hour, special series and award-winning locally produced programs. Additionally, the station continues to air such long-time children s favorites such as Sesame Street, Dragon Tales, Arthur and Barney.
