As publisher of both the Denver Post and Rocky Mountain News, Denver s two major daily newspapers, Denver Newspaper Agency is the result of a joint operating agreement between MediaNews and The E.W. Scripps Company. The agreement, which was established in 2001, is designed to preserve editorial competition between the Denver Post and Rocky Mountain News, which both have respective daily circulations of nearly 270,000. Each paper publishes independently Monday through Saturday, while a joint edition is published each Sunday. The newspapers also jointly operate Post-News Community, a charitable organization that donates more than $3 million each year to Denver-area causes.
