Founded in 1971, Marrakech is a nonprofit organization that provides residential, educational and job placement services to people facing economic and health challenges. The organization serves more than 1,500 children and adults with developmental, physical and behavioral health disabilities through housing, employment and community integration services. Marrakech offers a wide variety of programs and services to assist people with many varying needs, including acquired brain injury, group and individual employment services, group homes, homeless services, independent living programs, and mental health and addiction support programs. The organization also operates the academy for human service training center that prepares individuals for entry-level careers in the human service field. The program consists of a combination of classroom and hands-on training components and offers job placement assistance. Marrakech maintains its headquarters in Woodbridge, Conn., and serves the residents of New Haven, Bridgeport, Danbury, and Waterbury, Conn.
