My favorite local wine store. Owners are nice and prices are also good. Friendly and small, boutique atmosphere.

Pomfret Wine and Spirits opened under new ownership in July 2016. With a long running history of being the one of the nicest wine shoppes in northeastern Connecticut the tradition continues on. Affixed near two local winery's, Pomfret Wine and Spirits has a grand selection of wine, liquor and beer. Stop in on your way through the beautiful quiet corner of Connecticut and you won't be disappointied

Showed up at 9:58 for their 10AM opening. Waited 15 minutes until patience was expended. Then went into Putnam and spent $500 on locally produced wine.

Stopped by yesterday and bought two large bottles of wine...great selection and also of Scotches single malt etc....lovely choices...only one thing should be improved...to carry home the two...

I like this wine store! They have a nice selection of reasonably priced wines and the storekeepers are friendly, though not wine experts. Wood interior is cozy, like a little wine cellar.
